New Zealand comprises two main
islands, the North and South Islands, Te Ika a Maui and Te Wai Pounamu
respectively in Maori, and a number of smaller islands, located near the centre
of the water hemisphere. The area is about 268,680 square kilometers which is
little more than the United Kingdom. The country has a coastline of 15,134 km.
